Food is the language of love and comfort!

09/06/2021

Hands down 2020-21 has been a huge rollercoaster ride for us! This is the longest period where everyone is sitting at home and have taken a break from their faced-paced life. Work from home has become the new normal and you should know, it's not as simple as it looks. Missing our friends, colleagues, family, street foods, tapri wali chai, even boss ki gaali was comforting rather than sitting inside these 4 walls and just passing a monotonous day. Don't we all miss that canteen ka noodles, office ki coffee, gali wali pani puri and roadside pizzas? These comfort foods just make our boring day a little bearable. Having a bad day and just ordering a pizza, having a good day and celebrating it with pasta, feeling homesick and making an aloo paratha, mausam achha ho toh some chai and pakoda, these are some of the classics but aren't they more like emotions? Food connects with people and that's why we say that food is the language of love and comfort! I know you might be missing a lot of your favorite foods because of this pandemic but here's something to help you. Here are a few soothing recipes for your tummy and your palate which will make your heart warm! Take a break and enjoy them with some good books or series!

Butter Dosa

If we are talking about comfort foods how can we miss our all-time favourite Dosa? Dosa batter spread on the tawa, cooked till fine and crispy with some butter and molagapodi slathered all over, served with chutney, it's totally drool-worthy, isn't it? Dosa is so versatile that it can be made and paired with anything and taste just the best!

Kanda Poha

Agar kuch bhi na ho toh bhi Poha hai! Poha is such a versatile dish that can be had as a snack, breakfast, dinner and doesn't need an introduction or accompaniment. If you are not in a mood to cook or you are having a lazy day, all you need to do is make this super easy kanda poha and garam garam chai. Sit by your balcony and enjoy!

Ghee Rice with Rajma

When you miss your mom and feel homesick in some far away city, the best way to feel a lil' better is to make rajma and ghee rice for lunch, just how your mom makes it. Making rajma might feel like a huge task but trust me it's simpler and easier if you follow this recipe. Steaming hot ghee rice topped with Rajma and enjoyed with sliced onion is just *chef kiss*!

Cream of Tomato soup

Soups go with any season but barish and soup have a very old and gold-like affair. When we talk about soups, how can we not mention Tomato soup as it's the most comforting and quick soup you can make on a rainy day! This creamy and luscious bowl of tomato soup is going to soothe your soul inside out!

Pani puri

If comfy foods don't have pani puri, then the list isn't complete. Show me one person who doesn't like golgappas, puchkas or pani puris, whatever you may call it. This crunchy chaat is everyone's all-time favourite dish and is famous all over India. How many panipuris can you eat at one go?
